Thoughts of the habitat project focus on the words 'natural home' and so on a quiet afternoon, I took myself down to the river bank to sit quietly to sew my responses to the sounds around me. The natural area that feels like home to me is a muddy earthy place by the overflowing weir. The weir is too noisy though and drowns out the birdsong that I was hoping to hear.
I don't have any brown cloth material to reflect the brown of the habitat but I do have some paper bags.
My only non-foraged material was the thread and this played with my conscience of keeping everything natural. I even questioned my ethics of stealing the grass as I believe the natural habitat belongs to those who are going to use it as nature intended.
